Nine Regional Artists to show in GAGA III. (holding their ribbons)
The third annual Exhibition of top rated regional painters, sculptors & photographers, all living in the surrounding communities of Albany and members of the Georgia Artist Guild of Albany will Open at The Center for Art on January 8, 2017. The end-of-year Annual Competitive Exhibition, held each year at the Albany Museum of Art, provides an opportunity for area artists to show their latest works to a loyal following. Part of each winning entrant’s award is an exclusive showing in the Gallery at the Center for Art & Rehabilitative Energies, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) private foundation established in 2012 in Shellman, GA. (http:// http://www.shellmancenter.wordpress.com) The Opening Reception with the artists in attendance, is free to the public and will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday January 8, 2017. Everyone is welcome. Light refreshments will be served. The event will end at 5:00 P.M.
The winners of the 2016 Annual Competition are: Diane Johnson, 1st Place, Mary Sumners, 2nd Place, Rich Curtis, 3rd Place & Bonnie Davis, Honorable Mention in painting/drawing. Ray Pierotti, 1st Place, Cheryl Angela, 2nd Place and Honorable Mention, Meg Tilley Anderson, 3rd Place in sculpture. Photography prizes went to: Bob Parker, 1st & 3rd Place, Meg Tilley Anderson 2nd Place & Kay Stafford, Honorable Mention. The two Florence Prisant Awards were given to David Griffin & Meg Tilley Anderson.
The GAGA III Exhibition opening on January 8th will remain for viewing through February 26th. Interested viewer are welcome to visit these beautiful and varied works of art in the Center’s Gallery which is open and free of charge every Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 – 5:00 P.M. Reservations are not required. However, if you would like to schedule a group visit to the Gallery on other days of the week you may call 229 679-5069 or email email@example.com and ask for a scheduled reservation time. Social and professional clubs, schools and church groups are encouraged to utilize this opportunity. The Center for Art ,a unique destination, is directed and managed by volunteers.
